Palm Bay Firm Wins $230,000.00 SBA Grant To Assist Small Businesses For Immediate Release October 7, 2005 Contact: Florida Drug Screening 888 441 4599 Palm Bay, Florida - The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) recently awarded approximately one million dollars in grants to help small businesses implement drug-free workplace programs. The 2 year grant award will go to only 5 organizations located in Florida, Arizona, Texas and Colorado. Congress approved the Drug-Free Workplace Act in 1998, putting the SBA in charge of the Drug-Free Workplace Program. The SBA, in cooperation with the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy, the Department of Health and Human Services, and the Department of Labor, administers the program. Florida Drug Screening, Inc (FDS) located in Palm Bay; FL was one of the recipients with an award in the amount of $230,000.00 for the SBA Drug Free Workplace grant. Utilizing this funding the company can provide the following at no cost for any Florida small businesses:
Additionally, FDS can provide to any business or interested organization, live workshops on Supervisor Training, Employee Drug/Alcohol Awareness Workshop, Drug Free Workplace Program Overview or Parental Education to Keep Kids Drug Free. Again there is no cost for these programs. Any of these programs can include local organizations as partners or co-sponsors.
